Sculptures

I love sculpting with willow. My willow sculptures are made entirely from willow, I don't use a metal framework.

Every willow sculpture starts as a single willow rod curved round into a circle and even now, I still feel a thrill when I reach the point when a meaningless scribble of sticks transforms into a recognisable creature.

Every sculpture is unique and individually made by me; no two are exactly the same. For example, willow colours may vary, or a slightly different tension in the weaving process can result in a slight turn of the head. This is part of what keeps my work fresh and exciting.

All my sculptures are woven from British willow, some of which I grow and harvest myself locally. I provide wire loops or pegs to secure the willow sculpture to the ground.

If you commission a willow sculpture from me I can guarantee there won't be another exactly the same anywhere in the world!
