1-day Willow Sculpture Workshop

Castle Park Arts Centre

Covid-19 Additional information:

I will be running this workshop from my studio in the garden of my home in Tarvin, using both studio space and a gazebo covered outdoor area. I have limited student numbers for this workshop to a maximum of 2 people, so social distancing can be maintained, and I will ask that students do not attend if they are feeling at all unwell or have been asked to isolate. Face coverings should be worn while moving around and I will wear a mask and visor and use hand sanitizer if it is necessary to touch your sculpture. You should bring your own refreshments/lunch. In the event of necessary late cancellation due to movement restrictions, all reservations can be either refunded or moved to a later date. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Workshop to learn how to make willow sculptures. You can choose what you make. This one-day workshop shows you the techniques and materials I use in my own work to create sculptures from willow. The group is kept small so you will get help when you need it.

The workshop is held at Castle Park Arts Centre in Frodsham, Cheshire and runs from 10AM to 4PM (bring your own lunch or buy some in the excellent Arts Centre Cafe).

Previous experience of basketry or working with willow is not essential. At the end of the day you will be able to take home your completed sculpture. Previous workshops have resulted in chickens, ducks, herons and other birds and for those with more experience pigs, cats, hares etc.

All tools and materials are provided.

Total price is £75. To reserve a place, I request a deposit of £35, which is non-returnable should the booking be cancelled less than 2 weeks before the scheduled workshop date. The balance can be paid on the day.

Price: £75

Sorry, there are no places left. Contact me about about last minute places.

I have loved and been inspired by the natural world since I was a child and the ability to work as a Willow Artist and make willow sculptures representing the essence of animals, birds and other living forms brings me great pleasure. I love to represent movement and vitality in my work. My willow sculptures appear to have just paused in their setting before they are ready to move on. One of the nicest things anyone has said about my animal sculptures is that you can always see where they are looking!
